Mission of the Brush Valley Preservation Association (BVPA) has been established to preserve a 2,000 acre portion of Brush Valley located near Trout Run. This precious land harbors a 35 million gallon lake, natural sand springs and an incredible collection of wildlife. Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java(tm).

BVPA believes this land should remain in its natural state, and we are currently pursuing the possibilities to acquire and restore this land as a community park. BVPA believes in the importance to promote our community’s natural resources and oppose reckless and irresponsible development.

Vision of the BVPA is to develop an effective and strategic plan to promote economic development and improve and utilize our resources and heritage. We realize that if our community is to grow a stronger economic backbone, it must first offer a higher standard of living to its residents. Open space and recreational facilities are a major contributor to the quality of life in a community.

Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java(tm). Brush Valley has the potential to become a beautiful public park for walking, hiking, fishing, hunting, relaxing and picnicking. Our community is riddled with abandoned mines and littered woods. It is time our community had something of which to be proud.BVPA has researched grant funding through the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources to purchase and preserve this land.
Several conservancies and land trust groups have also offered their assistance (both technical and financial) if the County's option on the land expires. With the cooperation of Consumers Water Company and local politicians, the cost of the acquistion would be minimal and the outcome . . .both profitable and remarkable!!!

It is also important to note that BVPA is not against a prison in Northumberland County. We are against developing a pristine piece of land for the sake of a prison. BVPA has researched and found an alternate site for the development of a prison and additional industrial development.
